Welcome to St Mary's Platt

Provision for the Disabled

Parking

There is a small surfaced car park to the south of the church, with informal parking for two cars within the churchyard itself. If you are using a wheelchair, or have difficulty walking, please make use of this convenient parking. If you are brought to the church, it would be helpful if your driver could drop you off by the south door and then park in the car park, to leave room for other disabled users.

Access

Disabled access to the church is available via a concrete ramp to the south door where there are wheel chairs are available for your use, if required. There is level access to all areas of the church, with the exception of the sanctuary and, of course, the tower and gallery, but including the church Garden Room and lavatories. The lavatories are designed to cater for wheelchair users.

Hard of Hearing

loop-ear

The church has a hearing loop installed within the church, extending around all the seats, with the exception of the gallery. You should switch your hearing aid to the T position as usual.

Visual Impairment

There are some large print versions of the hymnbook “Hymns Old and New” and some large print orders of service. Please be sure to ask one of the welcomers for large print versions if you feel that they would benefit you.

Communion

If you find standing in line difficult, or do not wish to receive communion at the altar rail for any other reason, please speak to one of the welcomers who will arrange for the celebrant to bring bread and wine to you in your seat, or to give you a blessing as appropriate.

We make every effort to be as inclusive as possible and to enable everyone to participate fully in the worship and life of the church. If there is anything further that we can do to help meet your particular needs, please do contact us.
